I forgot who said this, but it’s been said more than once that every young actor lists James Dean as his inspiration to get into acting, or one of them.

Dean has been a figure every young actor wants to live up to. Hollywood has been trying to find their “next James Dean” since Dean died in 1955.

Dean and Monroe are probably the two most generic answers an actor can give as inspiration.
